Human Meds that are Vet Approved

Here is a list of human medicines  that can also work for our dogs.

Please check with your veterinarian first!

 

Benedryl – This treats allergies and itching in dogs. 1/2 mg per pound of dog – every 8 hours.

Buffered Asprin – Helps with minor pain relief and inflamation. 5 mg. per pound of dog – every 12 hours.

Dramamine – Reduces motion sickness in dogs. 12.5 to 50 mg every 8 hours.

Hydrogen Peroxide 3% – This will induce vomiting when necessary. 10 ml by mouth every 15 minutes (not to exceed 3 times). Please contact your veterinarian if you dog ingests anything toxic.

Kaopectate – Helps with diarrhea and upset stomach (gas too). 1 tsp per 20 pounds of dog every 6 hours.

Mineral Oil – Relieves constipation up to 4 tbsp daily. Also, try canned pumpkin for digestive problems with your dog.
